Invention of Bluetooth

Before starting my research on the invention of Bluetooth, I didn't realize how much we use it on a day-to-day basis and how much it's impacted society and the way we move in our day-to-day lives in general. But before we look at the total impacts of Bluetooth, we first need to look at how Bluetooth first came about. Bluetooth was invented in 1994 by Yapp Hartenson. Bluetooth was originally created to replace wired connections, and in turn, it was invented to create short-range connections between mobile phones and accessories such as headsets with low power, to also be inexpensive, and to utilize radio technology. Bluetooth was created to have a universal open standard for wireless short-term communication. As you can assume, Bluetooth wasn't a thing that was just formed overnight, and it was a process, and different things had to go into it to make it happen. One of the things that was a big step in the creation of Bluetooth was the formation of the industry group to make Bluetooth happen and to make it universal. Multiple tech companies joined forces and assembled the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. Some of the founding companies were IBM, Intel, Nokia, Toshiba, and Ericsson. While Bluetooth was a revolutionary invention, it did come with some challenges while it was being created. The speeds were slower in comparison to Wi-Fi, and it also had capability issues between devices, and limited battery efficiency in some of the earlier chips. Although Bluetooth creation did have challenges, the creation ended up prevailing, and the first consumer product to incorporate Bluetooth was a hands-free mobile headset. The product was debuted in 1999 at the Comdex Computer Expo, and at the Computer Expo, it won the best show award.Yo, yo, yo. This early consumer-focused Bluetooth device was created by Ericsson to bridge phone and audio capabilities wirelessly and was very influential and pioneering for the time. As I stated before, Bluetooth was a major invention and had a big impact on society. One of the biggest impacts that I found during my research was wireless convenience. Bluetooth eliminated the need for cables between devices such as headphones and smartphones, keyboards and computers, speakers and tablets, and smartwatches and phones. Another one of the big impacts that Bluetooth had on society was the rise of wireless audio wearability. Bluetooth made it possible for wireless earbuds, fitness trackers, smartwatches, portable speakers, and many more devices. The last global impact that I wanted to take a look at when it comes to Bluetooth is the economic impact. Bluetooth created billions of Bluetooth-enabled devices worldwide. It also generated multi-billion dollar industries and accessories, and it reduced manufacturing costs by replacing the physical ports and cables. In conclusion to everything that has been stated so far, Bluetooth has had many impacts globally. Everywhere you go, there is some sort of device that is using Bluetooth, from your computer to your gaming console, to your earbuds. Almost every electronic device has some sort of Bluetooth compatibility to it, and it was a revolutionary invention and has had impacts from the day it was created.
